QUESTIONS

Questions. Honest answers.

If your question isn't here, call us at (559) 296-2189 or schedule a free consultation. Our care team will take it from there.

About our care

  • Personal care, companion care, memory support for dementia and Alzheimer's, post-surgery care, chronic conditions care, Independent Living Community Care, and respite care for family caregivers. Browse the Services pages for details on each.

  • Four hours for standard care, and eight or more hours for extended-shift coverage. Shorter visits may be available for residents of independent living communities; ask during your consultation.

  • Yes. Every plan is built around the person, not a package. Our Nurse Practitioner reviews each plan before care starts.

  • Non-medical. Our care plans are designed by a Nurse Practitioner for clinical accuracy, but caregivers focus on personal care, companionship, and daily living support.

  • Yes. We're happy to align with discharge plans, medication schedules, and appointments. With your permission, we can communicate directly with providers.

  • Yes, both. Overnight caregivers stay awake for the entire shift, and 24-hour care is staffed in rotating shifts of awake caregivers. We'll discuss what fits your needs during your free consultation.

  • We're open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including holidays. Care runs on your schedule, day or night, and you can call (559) 296-2189 any time.

About our caregivers

  • Yes. Every caregiver completes a multi-step background check before they begin work, plus ongoing screening per state requirements.

  • Yes. Jane's Home Care carries full liability and workers' compensation insurance, and all caregivers are bonded.

  • All caregivers complete our internal training program before they're assigned. We also provide ongoing education on dementia, mobility, and personal care best practices.

  • We match based on the priorities you raise during the consultation: experience with similar situations, scheduling fit, language, gender preference, and personality.

  • Yes, anytime. We'd rather rematch quickly than have anyone uncomfortable.

  • We have backup caregivers ready. You won't be left without coverage on a scheduled visit.

Pricing & billing

  • Care is individualized, so there is no set price. Most care falls between $39 and $50 per hour, depending on the number of hours and the complexity of care. Your exact rate is set in your personalized care plan, and we walk you through everything during your free consultation with no pressure to commit.

  • No. We don't require contracts. You can adjust or cancel your care at any time.

  • We invoice based on hours worked, with detailed time logs available on request. Most clients are billed weekly.

  • We are a private-pay agency, and many long-term care insurance policies reimburse for our services. We provide the documentation needed for reimbursement, including detailed invoices and care logs. Bring your policy to the consultation and we'll help you understand what's covered.

  • Medicare does not cover non-medical home care directly, and we are not a Medi-Cal provider. We do partner with PocketRN and the Medicare GUIDE program, which provides respite care hours for those who qualify. Ask during your consultation and we'll help you find out if you qualify.

  • No. The rate quoted in your care plan is the rate you pay. No setup fees, no cancellation fees.

Getting started

  • In many cases, care can begin within 24 hours of your free consultation, depending on your needs and caregiver availability.

  • A 30-minute conversation about the care you need, who'll be involved, and how scheduling will work. Most consultations happen by phone; in-home visits are also available. Assessments are done in the home, or by phone when a family member is not available in person.

  • No. You can start a plan online beforehand, or build it together during the call. Either works.

  • Yes, anyone you'd like to include is welcome. We can also share a written summary afterward.

  • A general sense of routines, any health context worth flagging, and the kinds of help you'd like. Don't worry about getting it all right. We'll guide the conversation.

  • Fresno, Clovis, Madera, Visalia, Selma, and Sanger, plus homes within a 30-mile radius of Fresno. If you don't see your city, reach out and we'll let you know.
